The terms “Select” soccer and “Premier” soccer are often used interchangeably, although there are some key differences. Our club offers both Premier Soccer and Select Soccer programs for the U11 & U12 age groups. Both programs require that players must try out and be chosen by one of our coaches to make the roster for a team.
The “Premier” designation, is the highest competitive level of amateur soccer in the state. It is a full year commitment to the club with paid professional coaching, 2-3 practices per week, 2-5 tournaments per year, state wide travel (some times multi-state travel for older age groups), post-season state cup tournament play, and a club expectation that soccer is your primary sport. Participation in other sports is encouraged at the younger ages, however, coaches will require that soccer be your first priority during the regular league season and state cup. Players who strive to play on their junior high, high school or college soccer teams are encouraged to participate in the higher quality soccer training they receive from playing Premier. in fact, most all of today’s high school teams are comprised of players that play at a premier level. The “Select" designation, is a more competitive level of play than recreation level soccer. It is a half year commitment to the club and coached by volunteers, has 1-2 practices per week, 1-2 tournaments per year, King and Pierce County travel, and a club expectation that soccer is your primary sport during the soccer season. Club Select is a good program for multiple sports atheletes, especially, if soccer is not your primary sport. For more information on how to join a Select Team click here.
